you, were beautiful...

entrusted with the living essence of this sensitive soul,
you were the keeper of my heart
and held the key to unlocking its secrets;
lifting my emotions to the Heavens above,
you were beautiful.

distant memory now, your beauty has faded,
and along with its withering facade
you did steal away my heart and throw away the key...

the death of my soul as I fell from the clouds was thunderous,
and as you left me to bleed,
to suffocate from your toxic beauty...
I cannot believe you left me to bleed.

It's gonna take some time to recover,
to forgive the betrayal,
it's gonna be hard to wade through this wasteland of deception,
to escape from the blackened ashes of your fermented decay.
It'll take courage to resurrect this darkened soul
and arise like the fiery Phoenix that I am,

...to awaken from this spiraled slumber and welcome in a new day.
